Mehdi Monem

I am a self-taught photographer, born in 1961 in Rasht. In 1982, I started working as a photographer for IRNA news agency. I photographed several military operations of the Iraq-Iran war during five years. In the past 35 years, the impact of war on the people has been the subject of all of my works. Here is a summary of my activities:
1- Photographing the Iraq-Iran war 1982-1986.
2- Photographing the victims of Iraq-Iran war 1989-2025.
3- Publishing the book “Miracle of Hope” focused on disabled veterans of Iraq-Iran imposed war.
4- Publishing the book “Iraq-Iran war victims”, volumes 1 and 2, with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross in 2009 and 2015.
5- Holding several photo exhibitions in Iranian galleries.
7- Participation in several photo exhibitions abroad, including “165 years of Iranian photography” at Museum of Branly Quay in Paris.
8- Attending Rencontres d’Arles photography festival in France where I sold one of my works.
9- Judging several photography competitions.
10- Official member of specialized photography associations.
