The delicate and beautiful sparrows are singing, and suddenly these wounded layers rise from within me—fiery, stirred, longing to mock everything happening around me. I am in the midst of my work. The sound of water and wind helps me. I do not know how long these scorched birds will accompany me. They have taken root in the depths of my being in a strange way, and from their leaps I have learned how to jump away from whatever freezes me—and create another moment.
