Nazly Abbasi
b. 1977
Born in 1977 in Abadan, Nazli Abbasi holds M.A. in Art Research from Art and Architecture University and started doing photography in Committee of Ahwaz Youth Cinema. She is now a member of
National Iranian Photographer’s Society. Not only does she instruct photography in different universities but also, she is doing research in this field.
Abbasi is the author of “A glance at imposed war” which is about photography of war and has been published and selected by Soore Mehr publication. Her artworks have been selected by more that 30 national and international photo festivals such as her presence in 13th Iran Photo biennial in museum of contemporary art in Tehran.
Artworks in “To a woman whom I don’t know” series have been published in LensCulture and ArtDoc magazine official pages.Also, In recent years, she has curated more that 6 group photo exhibitions.
After experiencing documentary photography, Nazli Abbasi has reached a nostalgic and emotional genre which originates from her experience and her attitude to life.
